When I heard that "Thirteenth Step" was put on the shelves, within 12 hours, I was out and about looking for it. As soon as I put it to the stereo, I listened to the entire album. Maynard, again, has gone above and beyond the call of spirituality with his beatific, angel-like voice. Listening to him sing track nine, "The Nurse Who Loved Me," I nearly fell to tears thinking of my girlfriend. She is also a fan of APC. This CD is almost described as "soul-searching" music. It cleanses my ears as well as my soul. I could go on all day about how much this band should almost be praised.

In comparison to the original album, "Mer de Noms" (or the "Sea of Names" in French, or something like that. Someone correct me if I am wrong.), this CD takes all. Though the first CD was amazing and it will always remain that debut album for APC, this CD is twice as good. I would like to say it is much like the first CD on steroids. Not saying that it is harder rock. but it is harder at what APC seems to be trying to acheive, the search for your innerself through this music. This is what I see through this kind of music. This album will forever remain my number one favorite album of all time. Until of course the next APC album comes out.

I agree with Aaron's perspective on Maynard James Keenan's voice. It is angelic because it has the unisex aspect. With the soothing sound of a woman to the hissing howl of a man, he takes all the props for being quite possible the best singer alive. With the band forming a perfect circle, A Perfect Circle is, well, perfect.
